Indoor market Opens Friday 4/4

Mansfield Growers Market will open 3 to 6 PM Friday, April 4 in the St. James Church Parish Hall. Meat, eggs, baked goods, crafts, goat milk soap, and spring produce grown in greenhouses and high tunnels will be available. The indoor market will last through April, and the outdoor market will begin 3 to 6 PM Fridays May through September as usual.

Frizzle Sizzle PansiesThe Herb Corner will have pansies and Johnny jump-ups for sale. For opening day only Diane Fiorentino will not only answer any gardening questions you have, but test your soil pH. Soil needs to be somewhat dry and a composite of the entire garden soils. (one sample per garden area). Dig down about 3-6 inches, mix it up in a glass jar, and bring the sample to the Herb Corner table.  You do not need a lot of soil for the test.

Running Bear Farm will have spinach, cilantro, cuts of chicken and turkey, rabbit, lamb sausage, and eggs. If we get any sun they’ll have salad greens next week! Always Somethin’ Farm will have goat milk soap, cream, and lotion bars.

Yorkshire Meadows will have will have assorted scones, shortbread cookies, oatmeal pecan cookies, lemon curd, and four kinds of jam. curdShe will also have wonderful array of wool hats, infinity scarves, and fingerless mittens in beautiful Spring colors.  Liz McClelland will be taking orders for Easter.

Basically BagelsBasically Bagels will be there with a variety of handmade bagels. Glenfiddich Baked Goods will have oatmeal bread, cookies, cinnamon rolls, red salsa, sourdough bread, and biscotti. Other vendors participating in the indoor market are Inn to the Seasons and Roosting Tree.

Thanks to all the community members and businesses who are supporting our market through donations. Sponsors pay $100 or more and provide the majority of the operating budget, which includes advertising, equipment, and musician fees. There is still time to become a 2014 sponsor and get your name on the banner and t-shirt!
