June 29th Market Highlights

Greetings Dear Friends of the Mansfield Growers Market!

Another week and more excitement to look forward to this week!

Produce is in full swing! Running Bear Farms will have carrots, green peppers, baby zucchini, cabbage (green), swiss chard, green onions, celeriac, haikuri turnips (sounds fancy!), napa cabbage, and shallots. Spring Meadow Farm will have beets, green onions, savory salad, spinach, spring salad, swiss chard, and kale!! Eat it fresh and raw, or cook it up… this produce should be grabbed while you can! There will be other produce available from other vendors, so keep an eye-out and make sure you visit everyone at the market!!

Since summer is upon us, maybe you should bar-b-que?! Check out Hillstone Farm’s grass-fed beef, or Running bear farms chicken and rabbit. Don’t forget, eggs are available from several of our vendors (including duck eggs… maybe) so check in at Spring Meadows and Running Bear if you are running low.

Glenfiddich Farm will have more of their delicious breads, cookies and salsa this week and Yorkshire Meadows always pleases with their array of scones, jams, cookies and wooly arts and crafts! Need bagels? I know just the lady 🙂 Basically Bagels has a whole lot of bagels… everything from plain to cinnamon-sugar (a personal fave) to everything to onion. This list goes on! Get your breakfast (or lunch, or dinner) on and go pick a few bagels up!

Don’t forget our wide selection of artisans. Make sure you stop and see what they have available! Who knows, you might just need a new bar of soap (PureHart Soaps or Always Somethin’ Farming), some lovely (and festive) decor for your home, or great gifts for all sorts of occasions!! Also, Diane of The Herb Corner, will have more fresh-cut flowers! Ah! They are so beautiful! Brighten any space with a splash of color… like this!

Yorkholo is on the hot cart this week serving up some sausage sandwiches! Cajun, Hot Italian, and Green Onion sausages, straight from our friends at Hillstone Farms. There will be a vegetarian option, but that is still in the works, so stay tuned!

Art@theMarket is back this week, so make sure to bring the kids for arts and crafts! KC101 will also be hanging out at the market bringing in their live show. If you have ever wanted to be on the radio, who knows! This just might be your chance. Also, Daria Guelig will be playing the hammer dulcimer before our scheduled band (from 3-4:30), then it is Tribal Waves, a new band to our market, so come out and show your support!!

It’s summer and we always have so much fun, so come on out for fresh food—grown by your friends! Friday 3-6 pm on the grounds of St. James Church on Route 6 one block east of Main Street. Rain or shine!

Love, Kestrel
